A translation of the German study of Indo-European pastoral vocabulary, with a comparative appendix for Albanian.
Hannelore Weiß-Trautmann’s study argues that the pastoral terminology of the Indo-European languages preserves an older lexical stratum than the agricultural, and that this stratum is most clearly attested in the peripheral branches. Albanian occupies a particular place in the argument, which is why KASP commissioned this translation.
The comparative appendix for Albanian was written specially for this edition and does not appear in the German original. It compares case forms across six varieties and is also given as a full table at the end of the volume.
The edition stands on two rights chains: the translation licence from the German publisher and the translator’s own right in the Albanian text. The sale term is set by whichever ends first.
