BlogBox editorial policy
How we handle corrections, conflicts of interest, the right of reply, reader participation, and the line between editorial writing and promotion.
Corrections
Where a published piece contains a factual error it is corrected, and the correction appears above the text with its own date. The original is not removed and its address does not change, so existing citations keep working.
The final wording of this section is still being written by the editors.
Conflicts of interest
Where a review concerns a KASP title, the relationship is declared at the head of the piece. The declaration does not depend on an editor remembering: it is derived from the link to the title itself, so it cannot be forgotten.
Independent criticism of our own titles is welcome. The final wording is still being written.
The right of reply
Where a piece names an institution or a person, they may ask to reply. A reply is published as a piece in its own right, linked to what it answers, so that the two are read together and cited separately.
Requests arrive by email until a form exists. Deadlines and procedure are still being settled by the editors.
Reader participation
Readers may send a question, a counterargument or a source suggestion. Every submission needs its address confirmed and goes to the editors; nothing is published automatically and there is no voting — a useful objection should not disappear because it is unpopular.
The rules prohibit personal abuse, spam, publication of private information, and serious factual allegations without supporting evidence.
SUBMISSIONS ARE NOT OPEN YET. Until the editors have real moderation capacity the channel is «Report an error» at the foot of every piece. The final wording of this section is still being written.
Editorial writing and promotion
BlogBox is not a promotional space. A piece may link to a book and a book page may link to a piece, but editorial writing is not written to sell and is not paid for by anybody.
