The English translation of Zef Ndrecaj’s study of Northern Gheg historical phonology, made by Mira Çaushi-Bogdani in collaboration with the author. Comparative terminology has been adapted to international usage while dialect examples are left in their original form.
The translator’s introduction explains the decisions where Albanian and English do not share a term: where a narrower English word has been chosen, the original is given in brackets. The English edition does not contain the new appendix of the second Albanian edition.
