Engjellushe Krasniqi-Hoxhaj

Museum of Kosovo, Heritage Department

An art historian specialising in the church iconography of Kosovo and in the relationship between text and image in fourteenth- to sixteenth-century frescoes.

Ëngjëllushë Krasniqi-Hoxhaj catalogued eleven churches in Prizren over seven years of fieldwork. What began as a conservation record became an argument about how inscription and figure are read together by a viewer who cannot read.

She objects to publishing plates without full archival credit and has written that a catalogue without provenance is an album. Her titles appear in print only: the diocesan archive has not granted digital reproduction rights.
